Following naval protocol, the counterpart received the customary military honors at the gangway, then was welcomed in the Officers’ Square where the Force Commander gave his welcome speech, a presentation of the multinational staff embarked, the ship’s Command, and a presentation of ASPIDES. The activity continued with an open discussion in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere, at the end of which a moment was set aside for an exchange of gifts and a quick visit to the Bridge.

The meeting significantly promoted a tangible projection of ASPIDES’ active role in enhancing maritime security and protecting international shipping lanes, stressing the Yemeni side’s interest in developing areas of future cooperation. In addition, a new communication channel is now open with the YEM CG for any real-world needs in case of SAR (Search and Rescue) intervention.
