Specialised Training & Mentoring at EUMAM MOZ
Lieutenant-Colonel Fernado Pasquin, from the Spanish Army, is responsible for J7 branch and also assumes the position of Training & Mentoring Head. He is responsible to plan, direct and control all mentoring activities dedicated to assist and mentor the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) units), in order to achieve high-developed and autonomous operational cycle in compliance with International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law and Women, Peace and Security. This role ensures close collaboration among FADM units, EUMAM MOZ Training & Mentoring Group and external actors.

Among that, as J7 Chief he is also responsible for providing advice to the Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Luís Barroso, on specialised training and mentoring activities, support FADM to develop and deliver their own training, direct the internal training, knowledge management and lessons learned internal processes.

Towards the objectives of the EUMAM MOZ, the J7 Chief has an important and decisive role in developing and enhancing FADM capabilities, which improves the successful sustainability of the trained Quick Reaction Forces into a planned and coordinated operational cycle.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission, with a mandate until june of 2026, that supports the FADM in developing and strengthening capabilities. The mission has more than 80 military personnel from 11 nationalities.
