FADM begin Basic Practical Ammunition Course delivered by the Austrian Armed Forces through EUMAM MOZ
Over the next two weeks, members of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) who successfully completed the Basic Theoretical Ammunition Course, held in March this year, will have the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge acquired in a practical and operational context.
The specialised training, conducted by instructors from the Austrian Armed Forces Logistics School, aims to develop essential technical skills in a critical area for the safety and operational effectiveness of the FADM, namely the handling, storage and management of ammunition.
This course is part of a sustained capacity-building approach designed to equip the FADM with fundamental technical and practical knowledge, strengthening their ability to respond to current and future security challenges.
European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique, 2025
Through this initiative, EUMAM MOZ once again reaffirms its commitment to developing the capabilities of the FADM, contributing to armed forces that are better prepared and more effective in combating the conflict in Cabo Delgado.
EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission, with a mandate until December 2026, focused on the operational training and maintenance cycle, providing mentoring and specialised training to enable the FADM to become self-sufficient in responding to the insurgency.
The delivery of this course by the Austrian MATT is another example of the partnership between the European Union and Mozambique in promoting peace, security and the development of the capabilities of the FADM.
