EUMAM MOZ receives visit from representatives of the United States of America

Maputo, Mozambique - The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) welcomed a visit today to its headquarters from Nicholas Checker, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Southern Africa and Foreign Assistance in the Bureau of African Affairs, US Department of State, accompanied by Abigail Dressel, Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Mozambique.

During the meeting, the Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Pires Correia, presented the activities and results achieved by the Mission. On this occasion, possible opportunities for cooperation and sharing of experiences in support of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) were also discussed.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026, which supports the FADM with the aim of strengthening the sustainability of Mozambique's Quick Reaction Forces (QRF), integrating them into a robust and autonomous operational cycle.
