They were received by the Mission Force Commander, Brigadier-General Luís Barroso, and the Italian military contingent. Also present were the Italian Consul, Lorenzo Vai, and the Deputy Head of Mission, Eugeniu Rotaru. 

During the visit, the delegation was given a briefing on EUMAM MOZ’s context and objectives, presented by the Mission Commander.

European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique, 2025

The visit reinforced the partnership and cooperation between the Italian authorities and the European Union mission, which have shared from the outset common values, goals, and commitments. 

 EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission, with a mandate until June 2026, focusing on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while providing specialised training to the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM).
