EUMAM MOZ receives visit from European Union delegation

Maputo, Mozambique – Today the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) received a visit from the Fact-Finding Mission delegation, from the European Union.  

The delegation was welcomed by the Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Correia, at the EUMAM MOZ headquarters where they had a briefing about the mission last developments and work achieves.   

Later on, assisting in firsthand to the cooperation with the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM), the delegation went to the Catembe Training Camp where they were welcomed by the mentoring group from EUMAM MOZ. There they visited the Role 1 unity, responsible for supporting the regeneration process of elements from the Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) and watched a demonstration of the capabilities of the elements of FADM QRF, that are participating in the Train-the-Trainers Programme and testify the importance of the specialised training provided by the european mission.

This visit reinforced the importance of the work that EUMAM MOZ has been developing, focused on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while providing specialised training to the FADM. EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission, with a mandate until June 2026, with currently 83 military personnel from 12 nationalities.
