Maputo, Mozambique – In the last weeks programmes from the European Union Military Assistance in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) have been developing to practical stages, where members from the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM) can put in action the learned concepts and ideas.

At the Military Driving School of the FADM the military that are doing the Management Maintenance Programme have the opportunity to practice with the tools taught in the theoretical phase, which contribute to the implementation of a robust Maintenance Management System that helps to sustain the resources provided.

At Katembe, the Train-the-Trainers programme keeps on going too, with military personnel of the EUMAM MOZ mentoring and supervising the weapons and shooting modules practiced by FADM members.

Also, important partnerships continue to grow. EUMAM MOZ participated in the Training of Trainers for Nacional Prison Service (SERNAP) officials on the Management of Violent Extremist Prisioners, organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The training aimed to equip prison officials with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage violent extremist prisoners effectively, covering a range of topics, including strategic planning, training assessment, program design, teaching methodologies, motivational techniques and evaluation methods.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission and focusses on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while also conducting specialised training to enable the FADM to be self-sufficient in fighting the insurgency.
