EUMAM MOZ participates in blood donation campaign

Maputo, Mozambique – Personnel from the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) participated yesterday and today (13th and 14th of October) in a blood donation campaign that took place in the Hearth Institute (ICOR), in Maputo.  

This blood donations campaigns benefit Mozambican children undergoing heart surgery. Throughout the various blood collection initiatives carried out by ICOR, EUMAM MOZ has always responded, with this campaign involving the largest number of military personnel ever.

The EUMAM MOZ Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Correia, who participated in the blood donation, reinforced the importance of the participation in these initiatives saying that the elements of the European mission “have a commitment, not only with the mission, but also with the community”.

The director of the ICOR, Beatriz Ferreira, thanked EUMAM MOZ for the “continuous support” in the blood donation campaigns.

These actions demonstrate the mission's attention to community issues and how active participation in initiatives for the benefit of Mozambique and Mozambicans is cultivated within the military personnel.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission, with a mandate until June 2026, focusing on the operational cycle and maintenance, while also carrying out specialised training to enable the FADM to be self-sufficient in the fight against insurgency. The mission has currently 83 military personnel from 12 nationalities.
