Maputo, Mozambique – The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) took part in a beach clean-up action at Costa do Sol, Saturday, April 26.

This initiative, organised by the Repensar Environmental Education Cooperative as part of International Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, included the participation of EUMAM MOZ military personnel, who joined the cause, demonstrating their commitment to Mozambique.

This beach clean-up action at Costa do Sol involved more than 200 participants and made it possible to remove six bags full of broken glass — among other waste — from the beach, leaving that coastal area cleaner and more pleasant.

EUMAM MOZ’s participation in this type of activity is part of a set of actions aimed at environmental protection and the promotion of good social practices, through collaboration and civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) with Mozambican non-governmental organisations and other entities.
