EUMAM MOZ marks another step in the Train-the-Trainers Programme

Boane, Mozambique – This morning 11 members of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) completed the International Humanitarian Law/ Internacional Human Rigths Law (IHL/IHRL) and Gender Based Violence specialised programme, in the context of the Train-the-Trainers Programme, provided by the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ). 

During two weeks, at the FADM Non-Comissioned Officer School, in Boane, the selected military personnel of the FADM develop their knowledge in these important topics, supported by the Legal Advisor (LEGAD) and Gender Advisor (GENAD), from the Advisory Group of the EUMAM MOZ, who lead the programme.

The aim of this course was to specialised the participants about the IHL/IHRL and Gender Based Violence themes designed for Sergeants of the Armed Forces IHL and other trainers to enable them to be better prepared while teaching the module in the Non-Comissioned Officer basic course.  

The specialised programme equipes trainers with the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge about the subject and enhances their instructor skills. The course supports FADM Operational Cycle (regeneration, preparation, and deployment) of the Quick Reactions Forces in Cabo Delgado.

EUMAM MOZ is a military assistance mission with a non-executive mandate. The main aim is to help the FADM to develop the necessary and sustainable capacities to restore safety and security in Cabo Delgado by providing them specialised training, mentoring and advising.
