Maputo, Mozambique — The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) launched, this week, the Theoretical Basic Ammunition Course (TBAC) for military personnel of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM), delivered by a Mobile Advisory Training Team (MATT) from the Austrian Armed Forces.

The course, conducted by two instructors from the Austrian Armed Forces (AT AF) Logistics School, is taking place at the Military Driving School in Maputo and aims to strengthen knowledge and procedures related to the safe and effective management of weapons and ammunition.

This specialised training contributes to the development of key Combat Service Support capabilities, enhancing the technical and operational skills of FADM.

The initiative forms part of the cooperation framework between EUMAM MOZ and the Austrian Armed Forces, with the latter contributing with specialised training teams to support the Mission’s assistance activities.

Through initiatives of this nature, EUMAM MOZ continues to support the strengthening of FADM capabilities, contributing to their professionalisation, autonomy and operational readiness. As a non-executive European Union Mission, EUMAM MOZ focuses on the operational training cycle, maintenance and specialised training, with the aim of enabling the FADM to progressively become self-sufficient in the fight against insurgency in Cabo Delgado. EUMAM MOZ comprises military personnel from 12 nationalities, including one member from Austria.
