EUMA opens new Liaison Office in Yerevan

On 30 May, EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) inaugurated its Liaison and Support Office in Yerevan. The new office at the Armenia Marriott Hotel will support the delivery of EUMA’s mandate and activities through strengthening the Mission’s engagement with national and international partners in the Armenian capital.

Head of EUMA, Markus Ritter said:

''Our new liaison office will facilitate exchange and increase coordination with the stakeholders in Yerevan in support of the Mission’s mandate implementation. It also serves as a workspace for our staff.''

With the opening of the new office, EUMA now operates from seven different locations in Armenia. The Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) are located in Yeghegnadzor, Jermuk, Martuni, Ijevan, Goris and Kapan.

To date, EUMA has conducted over 2300 patrols along the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan.

EUMA was launched on 20 February, 2023 and has currently 132 mission members representing 23 Member States. The civilian unarmed mission has a two year mandate which runs until February 2025.
