EUMA Convenes First Meeting for the Development of a EUMA Civil Society Strategy

On May 23, the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) held the first in-person meeting of its newly established Core Consultation Group with representatives from Armenian civil society organizations. This milestone marks the launch of a collaborative process to jointly develop EUMA’s first Civil Society Strategy.

“EUMA recognizes the invaluable role that civil society plays in supporting gender equality and human rights and strengthening confidence building efforts. Civil society actors are often the first to identify emerging challenges, provide essential support to affected populations, and amplify the voices of those who may otherwise go unheard. Their perspectives are crucial to informing our work on the ground,” Ms Roskic, gender and human rights advisor of EUMA said.

“We thank all participating organizations for their commitment and expertise, and we look forward to continuing this important work together.”

EUMA has worked in close co-operation with civil society groups of Armenia since the first days of it’s  establishment in February 2023.
