EUAM RCA supported a visit led by the Head of Mission to the PK26 border crossing, a strategic point on Corridor 6—the main axis linking Douala (Cameroon), where the main port is located, to Bangui and extending across the region, facilitating the movement of goods, services and people.
Corridor 6 constitutes the country’s primary economic lifeline and a key component of a wider regional connectivity network across Central and East Africa, supported by African partners and international cooperation. The Central African Republic remains structurally dependent on this axis, making its security and governance a strategic priority. Ensuring the security and integrity of this corridor is essential to maintaining trade flows, protecting public revenue, and guaranteeing the functioning of the country’s main supply route.
The visit highlighted concrete progress in strengthening revenue collection procedures, improving inter-agency coordination—particularly with Customs—and reinforcing anti-corruption safeguards at PK26.
Under its mandate, EUAM RCA reinforces its support along Corridor 6 through technical advisory to Internal Security Forces and Customs, targeted training, support to coordinated operational responses, and engagement in anti-corruption efforts, including communication campaigns through the development of awareness-raising videos.
By supporting national authorities in exercising more effective control over this critical economic artery, EUAM RCA contributes to the stabilisation of the country , its economic resilience, and increased public trust.
