On 25 May 2018 the GDPR came into effect. At the EEAS we welcome this new legislation as it harmonises data protection requirements across all 28 EU Member States, introducing new rights for data subjects, which apply extraterritorially to any organisation controlling and processing data on natural persons in the European Union.

Your privacy is important to EU institutions and to the European External Action Service. We process your personal data in accordance with the provisions of the pertinent  data protection legislation applicable for EU institutions, Regulation 45/2001 and its upcoming successor regulation bringing data protection in line with the high standards of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU Member States.

We take this opportunity to draw your attention to privacy and data protection with more information herewhere you can also find privacy statements on how we process personal data and for what purpose.

Since you have already given your consent to process your personal data when subscribing and if the information we process about you is up-to-date, you will continue to receive our Alerts, Newsletters and communications regarding our activities. Your data will only be used by us for the purpose of sending you these communications. We do not intend to transfer your data further, and we store the data ensuring appropriate organisational and technical measures of security.
