The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Zambia wishes to express its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, stakeholders and the people of Zambia for their cooperation and assistance in the course of the EU EOM.

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Zambia wishes to express its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, stakeholders and the people of Zambia for their cooperation and assistance in the course of the EU EOM. Since June 2016, the EU EOM has conducted a comprehensive and transparent observation of the electoral process in all ten provinces of the country, and has met political parties contesting the presidential and parliamentary elections, many representatives of the electoral and local authorities, and the civil society, media, and voters.

In November 2016, the Chief Observer, Mme Cécile Kyenge MEP, plans to return to Lusaka to present for consideration of stakeholder the EU EOM Final Report, which will include detailed recommendations for the strengthening of Zambia’s future electoral processes, in line with Zambia’s national, regional and international commitments for democratic and genuine elections.
