The EU Election Observation Mission in Sierra Leone has deployed 40 short-term observers to the 16 districts of Sierra Leone. On 7 March, they will observe the opening of polling stations, the voting, the closing of polling stations, the counting and the tallying procedures. Before their departure, the observers followed a two-day training on political, electoral, legal and media related-issues. The short-term observers work in pair of different genders and nationalities. They will join 28 long-term observers who are already following the electoral process in the field, in all the districts of the country.
