Speaking on Thursday 26 April at a press conference to mark the publication of the report, the Chief Observer congratulated Liberia on the overall good conduct of the elections, which set a standard for other countries in the region. At the same time she noted that there is always room for further improvement in electoral processes, in all democracies and expressed the hope that the Liberian government, National Elections Commission and other stakeholders would find the EOM's recommendations a useful contribution.
Also present at the press conference was the Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Liberia, H.E. Hélène Cavé. She assured participants that while the EOM's work was finished with the presentation of the Final Report, the EU Delegation stands ready to support Liberia in taking forward the recommendations.
