The EU Film Festival in Tomsk is organized by the EU Delegation to Russia, embassies and cultural institutions of the EU member-states with the support of the Tomsk Oblast Administration.

On 22 November at the "Fakel" Cinema the EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation Markus Ederer and the Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin opened the III EU Film Festival.

Ambassador Ederer pointed out that the EU Film Festival in Tomsk has become a good tradition: "I am very happy to be here today for the third time. Despite the usually cold weather, Tomsk is always warm and hospitable."

The festival program included 15 films from 15 EU member-states such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and Sweden. This year, for the first time, films from Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania were also shown to the public. All the films have been awarded numerous national and international prizes. During the festival, film enthusiasts also had a unique opportunity to meet European filmmakers and experts in person.
