The brochure "Beyond Election Day: Best practices for follow-up to EU Election Observation Missions" was launched at the European Development Days on 8 June 2017 in Brussels.

Broader guarantees to further enhance participation, in particular of women and youth, transparency and compliance with applicable international standards for democratic elections: these are the key areas addressed by the priority recommendations contained in the final report by the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

European Union Election Observation Mission to Jordan presented this morning its final report including recommendations for further improvement of elections

The 20 September Election was an inclusive process in the framework of an ongoing political reform process supported by the European Union (EU) and other international stakeholders. “It was a well administrated election, although room for additional improvement of the legal framework remains” said Chief Observer Jo LEINEN, while presenting in Amman the preliminary statement of the EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Jordan. “In particular, respect for key principles, such as the universality and equality of the vote, and the right to stand as candidate could be further enhanced” he explained
