From Sunday 8 to Thursday 12 September, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, will travel to Cuba, Mexico and Colombia.
During her visit to Cuba on 8-9 September, High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini will co-chair the second EU-Cuba Joint Council on Monday in Havana. The Joint Council will discuss the state of play and future perspectives of EU-Cuban relations, in particular in the EU-Cuba political dialogues as well as political and trade cooperation. While in Cuba, High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini will meet with the Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel, Minister for Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban civil society representatives and European entrepreneurs.
During her bilateral visit to Mexico on 10-11 September, Federica Mogherini will hold bilateral meetings with Mexican Minister of Interior Olga Sánchez Cordero as well as with Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard. The High Representative will also meet senators and members of Congress responsible for external affairs, members of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations and representatives of the Mexican civil society. Visiting the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini will meet Dean Dr Enrique Graue and hold a keynote speech.
Finally, in Colombia on 12 September, High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini will have a meeting with Colombian President Iván Duque, Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Holmes Trujillo, Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development Ricardo Jose Lozano Picon and Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Andres Valencia Pinzon. She will furthermore meet the Presidents of the Truth Commission the Special Jurisdiction for Peace and Search Unit, as well as representatives of the Colombian civil society.
