The MPCC EUTMs Commanders Conference took place the1^st and 2^nd February 2024. This conference is an annual event organized by the MPCC at the military strategic level and is chaired by the MPCC Director Lieutenant General Michiel van der Laan

Distinguished guests, including the PSC chair, Ambassador Delphine Pronk,  the Chairman of the EUMC, General Robert Brieger, the EEAS Deputy Secretary General for PSD, Mr Charles Fries, the Civilian Operations Commander Mr Stefano Tomat, the EPF Administrator, Mr Uwe Harms, the director PCM, Mr Cosmin Dobran, the director for strategic communication and foresight, Ms Aude Maio-Coliche and the ICRC Senior Armed Forces Delegate, Mr Chris Hall, participated as speakers. They expressed their appreciation to the respective Mission Force Commanders’ efforts and achievements relating to their success in carrying out the missions’ mandates. They also gave their view on the EU CSDP Training Missions and the challenges they face in a dynamic geopolitical environment. The credibility, the integrated EU approach and the cooperation with all the relevant third party actors were highlighted as important elements for the success of the EU training missions.

During the conference, different roundtable discussions were organised to discuss current topics and interact with the Director MPCC and the Deputy Dir/ COS MPCC.

The MPCC Commanders’ Conference helped to create a common situational awareness and unity of thought, but also created strong bonds between the different levels as well as between the different areas of operation.
