We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyz Republic, starting in October 2023.

The Cooperation Section consists of the Head of Section, nine Programme Managers and a Secretary. Its tasks include management of development cooperation projects, reporting and organising events and meetings among others. It also ensures visibility of EU Development Cooperation. It works closely with the Head of Delegation and other sections of the Delegation, such as the Administration, Finance and Contracts Section and the Political, Press and Information Section.

Main tasks:

  • Review project reports and attend project management meetings;
  • Help with outreach to relevant local stakeholders;
  • Attending and reporting from meetings, academic lectures and think tanks, events;
  • Assist with implementation of the Communication actions planned for 2023;
  • Support the Head of Cooperation Section in his management functions of the section;
  • Assist in organising events and meetings;
  • Learn about reporting on development issues;
  • Learn about public diplomacy and strategic communication;
  • Get acquainted with project management of EU development cooperation programmes;
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Head of Delegation and Head of Cooperation Section.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Kyrgyzstan and holding a valid visa and residential permit for the entire duration of the traineeship will only be considered.
  • At least a Bachelor degree in International relations, economics, law or similar degree;
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Russian and good knowledge of Kyrgyz;
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills; and good IT skills;
  • Interest in and knowledge of Kyrgyz development issues would be advantage.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
