The visit, aimed at reinforcing the EU's security and defence cooperation with Romania, provided a platform for dialogue on the security situation in Europe, particularly in light of Russia’s unjustified and illegal military aggression against Ukraine and its repercussions. The discussions also covered Romania's contributions to the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Missions and Operations.

The Chairman expressed gratitude towards Romania for its hospitality and coordination of the visit. He emphasised the importance of the EU's eastern flank and praised Romania for its significant role in supporting Ukraine amid the crisis, as well as its efforts in the CSDP Missions and Operations.
