During the Safety and Security Awareness Training course, training manager Irene-Maria Eich, from the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), and security policy expert Jens Kolmos Serritslev, from the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC), visited the Field Office Gori (FOG) on 11 October 2017.
The European council comprised of heads of state and government of all 28 EU member states on 19 October confirmed in its Conclusions the timeline set out by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini to launch Permanent Structured Cooperation in the field of defence before the end of the year, with a view to implementing the first joint projects in 2018. Leaders also welcomed work on the coordination of defence plans and on strenghening defence research and development through the European Defence Fund.
The EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) pilot course, Safety and Security Awareness Training (mobile safety and field security), was organised by the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia in partnership with the European Security and Defence College. The course took place from 9 to 13 October at the EUMM Headquarters in Tbilisi, Georgia.
