A Welcome Message from HE Ambassador João Vale de Almeida and Claudia Ott, EUNIC President:
This third edition of the 'In Short, Europe' series, is organised by EUNIC in cooperation with embassies and cultural institutions from the EU and the UK, and supported by the European Union Delegation to the UK.
Launching on 7 May, the European Short film festival offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate togetherness, unity and solidarity, and to mark Europe Day.
This edition, themed Happy Together, is organised in three strands: Hope, Magic and Life’s Little Disappointments. It is a celebration of the diversity and creativity of European cinema and our shared culture and values with the UK, showcasing the importance and resilience of our creative sector. We hope that this selection will bring you many joyful and memorable moments, and a sense of 'happy togetherness' which is ever more precious after a tough year of keeping a safe 'social distance'.
The programme has been curated by Shira MacLeod, film curator and former Cinema Director at the Regent Street Cinema and Riverside Studios Cinema.
The films will be released on EUNIC’S Vimeo platform at 10:00 am on the 7 May 2021 and will be available to watch free of charge until 23:59 on 16 May 2021 within the UK.
