EU-Korea Climate Action Supports EU-Korea Zero Energy Building Forum

The EU-Korea Climate Action Project, in cooperation with the Korea Energy Agency, supported the EU-Korea Zero Energy Building Forum which took place at COEX, on November 27. EU experts (Oliver R. Raph, Executive Director of BPIE, Maarten De Groote, Vito-Energyville, Belgium and Cristina Becchio, Assistant Professor, Energy Department of Politecnico di Torino) presented valuable insights on EU vision and practical application of the Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) concept. They discussed with Korean stakeholders the EU ZEB policy framework and its developments, technological aspects of low energy housing and Socio-economic aspects of low energy housing and energy saving building retrofitting. In addition, a dedicated workshop on ''Building Energy Efficiency Policy Implementation and Experience in EU'' has taken place on 26 November 2019, addressing the issues of incentives, policy innovation and first experiences in applying NZEB in EU. The EU–Korea Climate Action Project supports networking, knowledge sharing and cooperation between Korean and European non-state actors.
