The Resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict is a fundamental interest of the EU. The EU’s objective is a two-state solution with an independent, democratic, viable and contiguous Palestinian state living side-by-side in peace and security with Israel and its other neighbours.
The terrorist attacks in Paris, the crisis in Syria and migration were at the core of the discussion at the EU Foreign Affairs Council today in Brussels. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims in Paris. During the meeting Ministers also issued statements on the violence in Burundi amongst other subjects.
High Representative Federica Mogherini on Tuesday reiterated her call for an end to the violence which is taking such a heavy toll on both Israelis and Palestinians, and for real and concrete steps towards final status talks.
