On 23 January 2018, the day after his Inauguration, President George Weah met with European Union Ambassadors to Liberia, led by the European Union Ambassador, Hélène Cavé.
The fifth African Union - European Union (AU-EU) summit will take place on 29-30 November 2017 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. 2017 is a defining year for EU-Africa relations, as it has been ten years since the adoption of the joint Africa-EU Strategy.
On November 29-30, African and European Heads of State will meet in Abidjan for the 5th AU-EU Summit to discuss the priorities for the partnership between the two continents for the years to come. The overarching theme will be “Investing in Youth” and ensuring an active and meaningful inclusion of young people in the run-up and at the Summit is a given.
The European Union and the African Union reaffirm their strong commitment to full implementation of the Paris agreement, and call on all partners to keep up the momentum created in 2015.
