Participation of ENP partners in EU programmes and agencies is a mean to promote reform and modernisation in the EU’s neighbourhood and strengthen administrative and regulatory convergence of partner countries with the EU.
The developments in Libya, counter terrorism initiatives, and the EU's partnership with Eastern countries were discussed when EU foreign Ministers held their last meeting of 2015 in Brussels on Monday 14 December. The meeting was chaired by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini. EU-Turkey relations were discussed as Ministers had a working lunch with their Turkish counterpart.
After visiting Ukraine, High Representative Federica Mogherini was in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Tuesday. The visit involved meetings with President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. She also met with the Chairman of the Parliament David Usupashvili and leaders of the parliamentary factions, as well as with civil society. Georgia is one of the six partner countries of the Eastern Partnership and signatory of the Association Agreement/Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union.
On 4 September 2015, EU Ministers of Foreign and European Affairs are addressing the Middle East peace process, the EU's Eastern Partnership and the Union's relations with Russia.
On 5 September, the Ministers are joined by representatives of the candidate countries for EU accession to discuss migration and the challenges that the EU and the candidate countries must face in this area. Afterwards, the Ministers are discussing EU-Iranian relations following the agreement on Iran's nuclear programme.
