Government, Civil Society and Donors Coordinate for Better Waste Management Systems in Georgia

<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>Current and planned initiatives in the waste management sector were discussed at a Waste Sector Projects Coordination Meeting on March 4, 2019. </em></span></p>

The event brought together more than 35 representatives of donor and international community (EUD, EBRD, KFW, UNDP, SIDA, etc), governmental, civil society organizations and projects. The meeting was chaired by Khatia Tsilosani, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The discussions at the meeting focused on coordination, cooperation and partnership opportunities among various stakeholders and initiatives, as well as perspectives of further joint activities, aimed to improve waste management system in Georgia and increase awareness on relevant issues.

The meeting was initiated and organized by European Union Delegation to Georgia in cooperation with Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
