Eastern Partnership Panel on Governance and Public Administration Reform focuses on delivering better services to citizens and businesses

The 15th Eastern Partnership Panel on Governance and Public Administration Reform was held in Prague on 7-8 November 2018 under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Representatives from the 6 Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine), EU Member States, EU services, civil society representatives and international stakeholders shared experiences and discussed approaches to deliver better services to citizens and businesses through simplification of administrative procedures and rationalization of public administration.

The 15th Eastern Partnership Panel on Governance and Public Administration Reform was held in Prague on 7-8 November 2018 under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Representatives from the 6 Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine), EU Member States, EU services, civil society representatives and international stakeholders shared experiences and discussed approaches to deliver better services to citizens and businesses through simplification of administrative procedures and rationalization of public administration.

They addressed accountability and organization of public administration and service delivery through citizen-oriented procedures and accessibility of public services. They also reflected on the progress and on-going challenges as regards gender mainstreaming and gender-responsive budgeting within public administration reforms.

A field visit in the municipality of Hradec Kralové provided an opportunity to discuss and observe the interaction of local, regional and national levels in the field of governance and administration reform, through the example of the Smart City concept.
