What we offer?

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political Section of the EU Delegation to Venezuela, starting in May 2020.

Under the supervision of the Head of Section, to monitor and contribute to analysis and reporting on the overall situation and development in Venezuela, including on regional level and on political relations with the EU and Member States.)

Main tasks:

• Contributing to the Delegation’s press review. Monitor the daily press in order to collect information relevant to EUDEL Venezuela.
• Contributing to the Section’s political analysis and reporting.
• Carrying out background research on topical issues.
• Assisting the Section in its responsibilities of EU coordination.
• Attending relevant events and meetings inside and outside the Delegation.

Qualifications or special requirements:

• Very good command of English and Spanish are required.
• Degree related with Politic, International Relations or European laws will be a plus.
• The incumbent must be able to demonstrate strong computer literacy notably for internet and web content production, webinars, and good management skills of social networks applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
• Due to the current circumstances in Venezuela, familiarity with the country context and a host family in Caracas, is a prerequisite for any applicant from abroad.

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
