EU Study Weeks: autumn edition

The autumn session of the EU Study Week will take place on 27-30 October 2020. Russian students and postgraduates up to 30 years of age from Russian universities and Estonian students living in Tartu at the time of the event are invited to participate. The Russian students will take part in the event online while the European students will be able to attend the conference in the studio at the University of Tartu.

The EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer will open the EU Study Week. Among the speakers there will be European diplomats, coordinators of European programmes, professors from the University of Tartu and other European and Russian universities including Marek Neumann, European integration expert, the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), Stefano Braghiroli, Associate Professor, PhD Programme Director for the EU-Russia Studies, the University of Tartu (Estonia), Andrey Makarychev, Visiting Professor at the Johan Skytte institute of Political Studies, the University of Tartu (Estonia).

The EU Study Week programme includes lectures and discussions on such topics as overcoming the pandemic, the EU integration processes, digitalization of the EU economy, in particular the concepts of e-government and e-democracy, the history and future of the EU, the EU migration policy, and scholarship and volunteer programmes in Europe. Interactive tasks are also envisaged in which all participants will be involved.

The working languages are English and Russian. Good knowledge of English and Russian is a prerequisite for participation. The total number of participants will not exceed 50 people.

A competitive selection of participants is carried out on the basis of an online application which must be submitted by 12 October 2020. The results of the competition will be announced on 16 October 2020.
