The 2019 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP25) slated for December 2 to December 13 is less than a week away.
On 21 November, the EU Delegation to the Republic of Korea invited Professor Lee Hoesung, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and discussed climate action strategies for COP25 and COP26 together with the Member States.
Professor Lee said "It is needless to say that climate action will help address many issues related to climate change that the earth faces today. But at the same time, climate action enriches our lives and promotes economic growth. I believe that it is important that all of us work together to stablise earth's cliamte, which will also help develop the Korean economy."
EU Abmassador Reiterer said "As we discussed how to move forward for COP25 in Madrid, it will be the next challenge we have to work on."
