World Cleanup Day In Singapore

In Singapore, the response to the biggest global civic action against waste brought Singaporean and European communities together.

On Saturday 21st September the EU Delegation joined the second edition of the World Cleanup Day. Together with local volunteers and the Embassies of Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands, the EU Delegation gathered at Ang Mo Kio in the North-East precinct of Singapore to clean the streets and raise awareness about waste management among local residents.

 

In the context of Singapore's 2019 Year of Zero Waste, Pierre-Louis Lempereur, EU's Deputy Head of Mission in Singapore, spoke about the EU's approach to waste management as well as the European Strategy for Plastics and Circular Economy.
