NANGO Development Partner of the Year — A Moment of Appreciation

The European Union has been honoured with the Development Partner of the Year award by the National Association of NGOs (NANGO). The award, received in Masvingo during the 15th Edition of the NANGO Directors’ Retreat, has now returned to the EU Delegation in Harare, offering a moment to reflect on its significance.

This recognition reinforces the EU’s firm conviction that a vibrant, independent, and inclusive civil society is essential to the health of any democracy, to the protection of fundamental rights, and to inclusive development around the world—including in Zimbabwe.

The EU Delegation was proud to attend the retreat alongside more than 120 civil society organisations, the United Nations, Switzerland, and the Deputy Minister of Public Service, among other partners. The award stands as a reminder of the collective efforts invested across Zimbabwe to strengthen civic space, accountability, and community-driven progress.

The EU expresses its sincere appreciation to NANGO for this honour and reaffirms its commitment to working closely with civil society to help shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for all Zimbabweans.
