The challenge centred around cooking a beloved traditional Zimbabwean dish, "The Highfiridzi," a delightful mix of meat and vegetables served with the Zimbabwean staple, sadza. In addition to the EU, the competition brought together Ambassadors and diplomats from the Netherlands, UK, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Pakistan and the WFP, garnering immense popularity on social media, trending nationally and engaging thousands of Zimbabweans at home and abroad.

As ambassadors swapped their diplomatic roles for aprons and cooking utensils, they not only engaged in friendly competition but also delved into Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage. As participants cooked up a storm, they had to adhere to the competition's rules of no assistance except for verbal advice on how the dish is prepared. Many participating Ambassadors not only learned about Zimbabwe's rich culinary heritage but by purchasing ingredients from local vendors also fostered meaningful connections with local communities.
