The documentary “A wild ride with Carl”, released this week, takes and engaging look on what the European Union does in various areas in Zimbabwe in the field of natural resources management. Prominent Comedian Carl Joshua Ncube visits several EU-funded projects around the country and finds out – often in the funniest way (Carl is, after all, a comedian) – how EU support helps protecting wildlife, mitigates human-wildlife conflict, empowers communities and women to make a livelihood out of their natural resources in a responsible way and supports research to protect wildlife, flora and fauna. The full documentary can be watched here.
The documentary is accompanied by a new single by award winning Zimbabwean songwriter Sylent Nqo. His song Wakuruwe is a passionate anthem for the protection of wildlife. Listen to it here.
The EU has supported Natural Resource Management in Zimbabwe since 2014 with about EUR 40 million and works closely with Government, international and local NGOs as well as local communities.
