What we offer?

A paid traineeship of 6 months (to start by 19 November 2019) within the Political, Press and Information Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Zimbabwe.

Main tasks:

  • Analyse the current dynamics of EU/Zimbabwe relations.
  • Monitor political and economic developments in Zimbabwe, and contribute to drafting reports.
  • Conduct short-term and longer term research on specific issues of interest in the fields of domestic political and economic affairs.
  • Attend and report on public events, seminars, conference.
  • Provide support to public diplomacy events, visits organised by the Delegation, and visits from Headquarters.

Are you eligible for a remunerated traineeship?

You may apply for the traineeship if:

  • You are a young graduate with a University diploma (at least Bachelor degree) in International Relations, Economics, Law, Social Studies, Politics or similar subject.
  • You have less than 1 year of professional experience.
  • You are a national of an EU Member State or a pre-accession State.
  • You have no previous professional experience in any of the EU institutions of more than 6 weeks.

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. However costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and visa must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications received is over, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
