WHAT DOES GENDER EQUALITY MEAN TO YOU?

Gender equality is not to diminish or exclude men, but we have to remember that half of our societies are women. In Zambia, it’s even more than half: 50,7% of the total population and over 70% of the Zambian population is young people under 30.

This is a huge potential that we cannot exclude, and we need to bring these voices to the table to allow that different perspective in education, at school, at university, in the labour market, in politics, in business, and public life.

Young people will be our future leaders. They have energy and innovative ways of thinking that we cannot exclude.

Without the inclusion and active listening of half the population, a society cannot truly represent its people and cannot reach its full potential. This is why gender equality is not just a matter of fairness but a necessity for a thriving society.
