The European Union (EU) will soon present its flagship annual event in Indonesia: the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) 2019. Marking the 11th year of its presence in Indonesia, EHEF 2019 will be held in three major cities: 30 October at Grand City Ballroom, Surabaya; 2 and 3 November at Kartika Expo, Jakarta; and, 5 November at Sabuga Center ITB, Bandung.

EHEF 2019 will showcase 116 higher education institutions from 14 EU Member States, and Indonesia’s scholarship institution: Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP). This confirms EHEF as the biggest European study fair in the world. The annual event attracts the participation of more than 100 higher education institutions and more than 18,000 visitors.

During EHEF 2019, visitors will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives of European universities and learn more about the study programmes they offer. Visitors can also explore first-hand the scholarship schemes offered by the EU and its Member States, as well as by the Government of Indonesia. EHEF 2019 will also provide information about the Erasmus Mundus Journalism scholarship programme for Indonesian journalists interested in pursuing further studies.

Approximately 200 Indonesian students and scholars depart for Europe annually with the support of the Erasmus+ Scholarship. With the additional scholarships offered by EU Member States, as many as 1,600 Indonesian students and scholars set off every year to various European countries to continue their education.

This year, EHEF will present a number of sessions on various related topics such as about higher education, tips on how to obtain a scholarship, advice on being independent when studying and living abroad, social-cultural experience, benefit of studying in Europe, and various options for professional career paths after completing the studies. EHEF will also organise visit programmes from Indonesian senior high schools and universities to the Fair, to introduce them about the opportunities to study in Europe.
