On 28 and 30 October, the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam and its Member States welcome students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the European Education Fair. Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to learn about an advance education systems, the culture, traditions and attractions of European countries.
In his opening speech in Hanoi, H.E. Ambassador of the EU Delegation, Mr. Bruno Angelet emphasized that “Studying in Europe, you will have opportunities to learn new languages and inter-cultural skills. Once you are in the Schengen area, you will be able to travel all over the continent and discover the beauty of Europe”. These are only some of many more attractive features that EU offers in a very competitive ‘package’ to Vietnamese students to create their invaluable, memorable, and unique experience: a great variety of high quality courses in sciences, economics and finance, art, music, hospitality, etc., combined with “a wealth of history, breath-taking landscapes, buzzing cities and vibrant cultures”.
Out of a total number of 60.000 Vietnamese students currently following courses abroad, Europe is the second biggest net receiver of Vietnamese students with more than 15.000 – studying in Europe. In 2017, 29 students have received full scholarship from the Erasmus+ Programme to study Master courses in Europe. In addition, this year more than 500 undergraduate students received funding under the International Credit Mobility programme to complete short courses (3-6 months) in Europe.
At the EU Education Fair 2017, participants attended a 2-hour conference session where they were given valuable information and listened to real-life, actual experience from the alumni speakers. These alumni are representatives of outstanding Vietnamese students who have been or are still studying in EU countries.
Throughout the events in the "Info Fair" open space, public visitors could get detailed information and consulted with more alumni and country representatives at the information booths which were displayed for each Member State country: Belgium (Wallonia-Brussels), Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Participants also enjoyed the quizzes and bring home some gifts about Europe.
In Hanoi, the event will take place between 8h30 and 15h00 on Saturday 28 October at the National University – 144 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay. In Ho Chi Minh City, it will take place between 13h30 and 18h30 on Monday 30 October at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 10-12 Dinh Tien Hoang, D.1
