AKTAU - The association of legal entities “Civil Alliance of Mangistau Oblast” in May 2021 launched the project "School of public action - Western Kazakhstan". The 24-month initiative is implemented with the financial support of the European Union.
The primary goal of the project is to improve the quality of life in rural districts of Western Kazakhstan through public service delivery and state resource allocation, which effectively meets local needs.
The project is being implemented in three regions of Kazakhstan: Mangistau, Atyrau and Aktobe regions.
As a first step in the implementation of the project, on May 19-20 and June 01-02, two-day trainings on the topics "Development of a social project" and "Legal bases and mechanisms of citizen participation in decision-making" were held in Atyrau and Aktobe regions.
The trainings were attended by 78 people, including members of the local community of Aktobe and Atyrau regions, representatives of local executive bodies, initiative groups and other active citizens.
On the first day of the training "Legal bases and mechanisms of citizen participation in the decision-making process", the participants exercised their rights in accordance with the current legislation on local self-government, developed a plan for the development of rural districts and gained knowledge about controlling the use of funds to solve local problems.
Also, during the training "Development of a social project", the participants discussed possible directions for the development of social projects, implementation of small projects, and also received advice to initiative groups on the development of their projects.
