On May 3, awarding ceremony was held of the XV National Prize of the Golden Pen, dedicated to the World Press Freedom Day. Winners of the two nominations announced by the Delegation of the European Union were also announced and awarded.
In total, 12 applications with more than 100 articles, TV-reports, blogs and audio-materials were submmitted within the below EU's nominations.
1) The prize for the theme "Impact of COVID-19 on Uzbekistan" was awarded to Sanjar Eshmuradov. The winner participated in several articles with an approach to this topic in a variety of areas, from economics to gender equality.
2) Anora Sodikova was the winner on the topic "Implementation of international standards in Uzbekistan". He reviewed how human rights are exercised, and in his articles, he analyzed various aspects of the issue - from freedom of speech - to a personal experiment on the plight of people with disabilities.
