
The holding of the festival in Jizzakh was the final stage in a series of screenings of novelties of the European film industry. The festival started on October 11 in Tashkent, was successfully held in Nukus and Urgench, and lastly in the city of Jizzakh. The shows were hold on November 8, 9 and 10 in the Jizzakh Regional Music and Drama Theater for all comers absolutely free.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Eduards Stiprais, who in his welcoming speech noted that “Jizzakh was historically an important crossroads of the Great Silk Road connecting Samarkand with the Ferghana Valley; it was a place of merging travelers and traders.
As part of the festival, thousands of spectators from cities of Uzbekistan have already joined the masterpieces of recognized masters of cinema of the Old World. Now the chance to see the festival paintings has appeared among residents and guests of Jizzakh.
