On May 20, the delegation of EIB headed by its Vice-President Vazil Hudak arrived in Tashkent.
The delegation held meetings with the heads of the Senate of UZ Parliament, the Government, a number of ministries and departments. EIB to provide UZ with the first loans of up to EUR 400 mln already in October.
The first projects involving the Bank's framework loans are planned in the sector of energy saving, water management, infrastructure development, heat supply, construction of railways and automotive industry. In particular, the bank plans to provide EUR 60 mln to the joint venture UZ Peugeot Citroen Automotive for the production of minibuses and commercial vehicles in Jizzakh region.
