Mr. Odilbek Burkhanov, Komiljon Bakiyev, Hasanboy Usmanov and Raufjon Maksudov, whose companies are involved in the processing and storage of agricultural products, as well as the production of chemical fertilizers, held B2B meetings and established contacts with more than 20 companies, as well as received training and conducted internships in the EU companies. During business meetings the Uzbek managers were accompanied by the specialist of CCIU Mr. Bobur Ibadullaev. This gave Uzbekistan representatives an opportunity to exchange experience with their European counterparts, study modern management methods, get acquainted with the culture of doing business in Europe and learn about the latest trends and innovations in the global agricultural market.

Odilbek Burkhanov, a founder of PE “Tillaxon”, the cold-pressed juices production company, says:

Analyzing the food market, we came to the conclusion that it is necessary to expand our production in the direction of growing walnuts. At the exhibition, I got useful information about the subtleties of breeding walnut tree seedlings, and also I managed to find a partner for further cooperation in this direction”

Following the results of the internships, agreements on growing seedlings of wine and table grapes in Uzbekistan for further export of products to Russia were reached. It was also decided to establish a laboratory of fabric culture based on the experience of a similar Greek organization. In addition, details were agreed on the export of walnut stalks to Europe.

The group of entrepreneurs was accompanied also by the first vice-president of CCIU Mr. Islam Jasimov. Mr. Jasimov proposed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Samarkand and the Chamber of Commerce of Thessaloniki.

Financed by the EU with more than 3.5 million Euro, since its start in September 2013, Project MTP enabled 126 managers of small enterprises in Uzbekistan (17 of whom are women) to undergo individual internships in the similar companies in the European Union. The project conducted 19 informational workshops in 15 EU countries, which covered the activities of the Project, the investment potential of Uzbekistan and the role of CCIU. Before the end of the program in September 2018, another 50 managers, selected mainly from agribusiness companies, will complete their internships in the EU companies. The MTP project also organized a "Training of Trainers" (ToT) program for professional consultants and trained 15 certified specialists (13 of whom are women). At the same time, the Project organized 69 pieces training, where 28% of participants were women entrepreneurs.
