MEET MARTIN

Meet Martin, an architect with a sustainable vision. Establishing his small studio in the competitive field of architecture and accessing international markets has not been easy but he is thriving.

The collaboration between Uruguay and the European Union gave us access to incredible opportunities around the world and we can’t wait to design more eco buildings in Uruguay and beyond!

Teaming up with the European Union, Martin and his crew are shaking things up in sustainable design. With the InsPYraME EU initiative, promoting sustainable production in Uruguayan SMEs, the EU is riding the wave with them, gearing up to unleash a world of opportunities in Uruguay and beyond. Email

MEET DAIAN

Daian is a trailblazer, forging her journey as the first in her family to pursue higher education. She qualified as a tech specialist through free courses and honing digital skills. Yet, finding a job in her small town proved to be a challenge.

My ambition is to inspire young women to grab opportunities in the tech space.

Daian was granted a software tester position, through the Uruguay & EU partnership. She now freely balances family life and working from home. Her goal? To inspire women to challenge the norm and break into the tech space. She's well on her way to achieving this, through the Women in IT project – a Global Gateway initiative that seeks to increase the participation of women in the Information Technology sector. Email

The Power of nature & sustainability

A road trip was undertaken with Diego Weisz and Patricia Pita, during which they visited key locations in Uruguay such as the Santa Lucía river basin, the Sierras de las Ánimas, and the coastal areas.

The main objective was to showcase The Power of &, highlighting the work that Uruguay and the European Union are doing to protect the country's natural resources.

As part of the Global Gateway strategy, they collaborate to promote sustainable development, tackle the challenge of climate change, and preserve natural heritage.
