On 18 June 2020, the U.S. Climate Alliance Resilience Working Group, the European Commission, and EU Member States met virtually to discuss priorities for collaborative work on increasing climate resilience, as a follow up to their November 8, 2019 workshop in Washington, DC.
The following areas will be prioritised:
• insurance and risk assessment
• financing climate-resilient measures, and
• resilient/future-proof infrastructure.
Over the course of the next 18 months, targeted events and ongoing collaboration will facilitate technical cooperation on climate risk and resilience strategies between experts and policy makers from U.S. States, EU Member States, and European and American institutions.
